In Japan,
International Understanding
is a big issue...
...and it is a specific subject in the Primary Schools of the Yokohama
City Board of Education.
International Understanding Instructors are foreign educators who teach
the Kokusai Rikai Kyoushitsu (International Understanding Classroom). The
slogan of the program is "Live The Culture": the children play
games that children play in the home country of their teacher, and eat what
children back home eat, and sing what children sing back home. What could be
better than this to meet the true culture of a different country?
